    JaneneJanene
HI! I am Janene, I try not to define who I am with what I do...what I do is not who I am, so for that part, you need to meet me! Maybe someday we will...and for those who do know me...sorry about that! (LOL! Just kidding!). I have been passionate about horses since I can remember, so my life has kind of revolved around them. I have had a wonderful journey and managed to squeeze a lot into my short time! Currently, I am running my own business again. After a short 8 years or so working for two other companies which toured and performed with horses in theatres, rsl's and entertainment centres, here and overseas, I settled in the Byron BAy area to work for myself again. Although I loved the lifestyle and performing with the horses, there was a strong need to return to my own training philosophies and way with horses. I am working with people too...the changes needed in the horses can only reflect the handlers way of being. I've ridden in most disciplines and driven as well...have competed successfully in all. Most of my working life has been with horses and being my own boss. The majority of work with horses has been dealing with truly troubled horses, this has been the case from start to finish, but I have also dealt with coaching competitive riders, preparing kids for their PC certification (all levels), running a service providing horsedrawn vehicles for weddings/film/promotions etc...yearling prep, foaling down on TB and sporthorse studs big and small, done the stint in the TB industry... driven trotters; all of that in the past. What all that has served to do, though, is to show me very clearly what is not good for horses. I am passionate about what I do and am dedicated to educating others about their best friend and often their greatest love...the horse. So what is my philosophy reagarding horses? ... Above all we must learn to be still within ourselves, and to meet the horse. It is important to consider the horse in all that we do around him, at all times. When working this way the desire to be competitive simply drops away, as you learn there is nothing to prove; only what there is between you and the horse on any given day is important. There is a tremendous opportunity to heal when working with horses, both for the horse and the human. Horses have the ability to show us by their reflection, another way of being...a truer more complete way of living. The way we are with and around horses does spill over into our daily lives; if we are prepared to listen to the horse, we may learn a a great deal about our inner self. This is because the horse sees through our daily bluff, and into the core of our being, where our truth resides. In that way the horse shows the path to healing ourselves and developing true humility, harmony, joy, integrity, and love. On that path the horse grows too, awakens and evolves. Then all manner of amazing things are possible, for both. We do NOT have the right to cause pain to the horse any more than we have the right to cause pain to another human...for our horses this means removing the bit and other artificial equipment that essentially forces the horse to DO what ever we want it to. It also means adjusting the way we work with him; the duration, the intensity...and HOW we work with him when we do. It means adding play and communicating with our horses, not training them. Endless lunging, working a horse till 'the sting is out of him', draw reins, side reins, lunging apparatus that puts the horse in a set position...all of these things (and more!) must go. A horse that is not ready physically (atrophied back , neck issues etc) should not be sat on. End of story. We also need to evaluate our need to ride and whether or not we should be sitting on our horses at all. Some horses simply do not have the conformation to carry us without harm to themselves and none are really designed to be sat on anyway! The welfare of the horse in terms of husbandry is also priority, it is neccessary to learn about the horse from the inside out...without truly knowing the pyschology, anatomy and physiology of the horse you will fail to fully understand how to work with the horse in a way that keeps him sound in body, spirit and mind and thus healthy. Consideration to all points must be given...and if you aren't prepared to do that, then for goodness sake get yourself a PICTURE of a horse to look at and don't torture the real thing.

        NatashaNatasha Davis Homeopathy
I am a homeopath with a practice in Sydney. I am very passionate about homeopathy and am very interested in combining natural therapies with conventional medicine. Homeopathy is such a wonderful medicine for animals as it is so easy to take, and works on treating the animal rather than the disease, working on more than just the physical level. Many clinical trials have been conducted on the use of homeopathy in animals with positive results, and plenty of positive anecdotal evidence makes homeopathy worth trying. If you have any questions or would like some further information please do not hesitate to contact me.
